Western Province is all the land area around fly rive flowing from the Star Mountains down through the flat wetland and out to the Gulf of Papua supplying fresh water food for all marine life. To the west of the province is the international border with Indonesia and to the south is Australia,s torestraight islands. A land of full fresh water streams and winding rivers that provide wetlands and natural habitat for a variety of wild life.Its virgin rain forest attracts some of the richest logging companies in Asia to the area.To the north of the Proviunce is Kiunga, Tabubil and the Ok Tedi mine site.
WesternProvince total population 153,304. Western Province has 3 districts of North Fly, Middle fly and south fly with a total 14 local governments. Daru Island is where the provincial headquater is.
