Eastern Highlanders are proud of their traditional guidian the almighty NOKONDI (half spirit and half human). Eastern Highlands Province is the eastern inland area of the PNG highlands, with the provincial boundary with Morobe,Madang to the north and Gulf to the south.
EHP is famous in producing arabica coffee for export and general consumption.Traditional dancing and display of unique culture such as the popular Asaro mud man attracts tourist to the province.
Kainantu District in the province is known to be rich in mineral wealth. Future outlook for the district is bright due to the fact that mining construction work in the area has began. The district will benefit from more jobs and business activities.
EHP comprises of 8 districts and 11 Local Governments. The province total population is 432,972.
